The PrimeBook Circular at a Glance
At Prime Computer, we designed our PrimeBook Circular notebook with sustainability in mind but also with the needs of business customers in mind. The result is our Circular product line. The powerful PrimeBook Circular is the first high-performance device from the Circular line based on the Circular Modularity concept. This is a special design in which the most essential components for a PC are integrated on a handy plug-in card that can be flexibly exchanged. Thanks to this replaceable component integrated into the device, which includes the processor (CPU), graphics card (GPU), WLAN and RAM, the product life cycle of the hardware is extended, and CO2 emissions are demonstrably reduced. Circular devices such as the PrimeBook Circular from Prime Computer’s Circular product line can be configured not only at the time of purchase but also later when the use case and performance requirements for the device have changed. The modular computer component is backwards compatible, and this means they are interchangeable and upgradeable within the Prime Computer Circular product line without compromising functionality or performance. In addition, the storage capacity can be configured up to 1 TB, and the device can be connected to the climate-neutral PrimeDock Pro docking station.
Configuration
The following configuration was tested:
- Intel Core i7-1165G7
- 16 GB DDR4 RAM
- 1 TB M.2 SSD storage
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics
- Windows 11 Pro
Processing & Performance
The slim Green IT notebook presents itself in an elegant case made of anodized aluminium and features a glass trackpad, fingerprint reader and HD IR camera. PCtipp praises the successful quality of the anodized aluminium case and finds that both hinges, the notebook body and the display hold together are extremely “robust”. The testers from Notebookcheck especially liked that “the well-dosed resistance” allows one-handed opening.
The interchangeability of the modular element allows the user to “replace the technical inner workings with more powerful components,” according to the trade magazine c’t. A unique feature of the new PrimeBook Circular is its environmental compatibility, expressed by efficient and extended battery performance. SWISS IT Magazine attests to our product as a “best value” in continuous video playback compared to the notebook tests of the last two years.
„The PrimeBook Circular is ahead in video playback, compared to the Surface Laptop Studio. Here, the battery lasted a few minutes longer than in the Modern Office test – 11 hours 56 minutes. This is the best value from the last two years of notebook tests in Swiss IT Magazine”
Modularity for More Sustainability
Thanks to the modular component that is integrated into the PrimeBook Circular, the life cycle of the devices is extended, and there are less e-waste and CO2 emissions. Prime Computer’s circular devices can be configured not only at the time of purchase but also later when the device’s use case and performance requirements have changed. The modular computer component is backwards compatible. This means it is interchangeable and upgradeable within the Prime Computer Circular product line without compromising functionality or performance. This allows the product to stay in the lifecycle longer, meaning it is more durable and, therefore, more environmentally friendly than conventional notebooks. PCtipp also shares this opinion and says that the modular design of the device makes the sustainability aspects fully work. The PrimeBook Circular also impresses with its unbeatable measurements in terms of energy efficiency. Notebookcheck writes: “We liked the PrimeBook Circular’s emission rates very much. The low power consumption in idle and under low load ensures very long battery runtimes on balance.”
„We liked the PrimeBook Circular's emission rates very much. The low power consumption in idle and under low load provide very long battery runtimes.”
Conclusion
All four test media find Prime Computer’s PrimeBook Circular to be an extremely successful IT-hardware product that has mastered the “balancing act of speed, features, modular design and sustainability” (PCtipp) in an unparalleled way. SWISS IT Magazine even awards 5.5 stars (out of 6) in its overall rating for Prime Computer’s first product from the Circular line. Prime Computer’s first notebook is 100% climate-neutral regarding production, distribution and the first five years of use. Whether it’s design, performance, upgradeability or sustainability – the versatile notebook focuses on long product life and is, therefore, the first choice for all those who care about resource conservation.
